The Elements file has two layers. The top portion and bottom portion. Most of the worked described in the book has been done up to this point. You can nudge the images together, merge the layers, then fine tune the image with the healing brushes.

This image incurred much abuse in its time. A soon-to-be-published tutorial of the steps and actions required to restore will be available soon. Photo was taken in 1906 in Bentley, Kansas.
